Early club members enjoying themselves in the Barrmill Inn around 1947
Barrmill Jolly Beggars Burns Club have been meeting in fun and friendship since 1944. The club was formed in the small Ayrshire village as a welcome home for men returning from the Second World War. Early photos of the club members meeting in the Barrmill Inn indicate that fun was most certainly at the centre of their activities, because they really did enjoy themselves, celebrating at the end of many a night by standing on the tables after to sing Auld Lang Syne.
